NOAA made some changes that broke my
Mesobuoy page.
Ken released an update which fixed the problem. Thanks Ken!
WXSIM
Since
WXSIM started using the GFS model data, the forecasts have been more in line with what I had been expecting. But then I had to go and buy a new computer. I don't want to go on a rant here, as arch enemy Dennis Miller would say, but who is Microsoft kidding? Vista is supposed to be more secure, but I think all it does is cause the end user to hate them. It would surprise me to learn that hackers can't find their way around the security features, especially with people like me that disable half those 'features'. Anyway, after many hours of searching, and help from
Niko, I found
Move It Freely. Move It Freely is a command line FTPs program. It is a 32 bit program, not legacy. I always disliked command line programs, I mean this is 2007!, but it gets the job done. I have Windows Scheduler uploading my
WXSIM forecast three times a day. It updates at 5:30 AM, 1:30 PM, and 6:30 PM.
Roofcam Move
I had hoped to move my
Roofcam, but ran into trouble trying to run the cable through a buried pipe. I planned to buy another cable and give it another shot, but it is more than a little work. I thought I would give
NetGear's Powerline Ethernet Adapters a shot. I never thought they would actually work, but someone said that they do. I am still not too conviced. I read that the farther away the adapters are, the lower the throughput. Since I will be going from one end of my house to the other end of the garage, I don't expect much. I have them ordered, they should show up around the end of September. We'll see.
